Bob Crane’s Legacy

I found Bob Crane on Denise Camerons quilling supply website when I saw and fell in love with his wooden ornaments filled with quilling. I then found a wood pumpkin cutout that would be perfect to fill with quilling. I gave it a go and then shared it online giving him credit for the process. He however was way more talented than I because he used a scroll saw to create his wooden pieces.

Needless to say, I introduced myself to him and thanked him for sharing his experience. We kept crossing paths in our social media groups for quilling and then Bob came up with the idea of collaborating on a project. He would cut the wood and I would fill in with the quilling and then he would frame it. He came up with the idea of an arrowhead with a wolf and I was so excited and knew just what I wanted to quill inside!

He then shipped it to me and I got to work after finishing some other projects.

Almost done!
Finished and framed!

We were hoping to do another, but unfortunately Bob passed. I wanted to make a tribute to him for all of his encouragement and participation in the quilling community. He will be missed for sure…

Here are some of his beautiful contributions to woodworking and quilling…

Thank you Bob for always being so supportive and you’ll never be forgotten…
