Flowers Galore

I was asked to create a nursery piece with the name Ava and 3D flowers to simulate a garden. I had dabbled a little in some 3D flowers in this antique domed frame, but I knew she wanted a different layout for the flowers on hers.

She requested a specific set of flowers and my quilling friend Ngan Art Nguyen had a tutorial for them here…https://youtu.be/mM1jo9p_lzI.

I had a vision of how I wanted it to look, but just had to figure out how to recreate it with the paper strips! I made the daisies first, then the poppies, and lastly the peonies and leaves. After deciding on where I wanted the flowers, I knew I had to add more greenery to make it appear like a flower garden. I then cut out some leaves and greenery and inked them to give more depth. Here are some pictures…

I spent a total of 14.5 hours creating this piece and the finished frame size is 11”x14”…
